Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Mechanical Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
  • Oversee multiple projects from inception through completion, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory and client standards
  • Own the technical strategy and quality for complex HVAC and mechanical systems, ensuring execution through designated technical leaders
  • Manage resource allocation, task delegation, and project priorities across the Mechanical Engineering team
  • Oversee the technical review process to ensure designs meet safety, quality, and engineering standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical engineering, project management, and construction teams
  • Interface with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) for plan approvals, as needed
  • Support business development efforts through client engagement and technical expertise

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in HVAC mechanical design and system studies, preferably in healthcare environments
  • 8+ years of experience leading Mechanical Engineering teams, including remote or distributed teams
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, MEP, and NFPA standards
  • Expertise in hydronic and refrigeration systems, including HVAC, process cooling, boilers, and heat exchangers
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
  • Able to travel approximately 25% to project sites across the U.S.

  • Experience in healthcare environments preferred
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards

Pay & Benefits

  • $131,521 – $190,500 annual salary (based on education and experience)
  • Annual bonus potential up to 50% of base salary
