Director of Marketing, Memory Controllers
About the role
Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider making data faster and safer, is seeking to hire an exceptional Director of Product Marketing, Memory Controller IP to join our Silicon IP Marketing team in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will be working with some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world developing products that make data faster and safer. In this full-time role, you'll report directly to our VP of Marketing, SIP. Our Product Marketing group is dedicated to increasing the visibility, competitiveness and overall revenue of our Silicon IP products, and your contributions will be instrumental in growing mindshare of our Memory Controller IP products within our customer base. Rambus offers a flexible work environment, embracing a hybrid approach for most office-based roles. Employees are encouraged to spend an average of at least three days per week onsite, allowing for two days of remote work.
Responsibilities
- Outbound Marketing & Go-to-Market (GTM) Ownership: Own and execute outbound marketing for memory controller semiconductor IP products, including (but not limited to) GTM strategy & launch planning, customer-facing collateral, thought leadership content, webinars & virtual events, press releases / product announcements, technical conferences & industry events, videos & demos.
- Sales Enablement (Global): Equip Sales and FAEs to communicate value propositions crisply and win competitive battles by building sales training materials and creating and maintaining battle cards and competitive counter-positioning tools.
- Competitive & Market Intelligence: Own ongoing competitive analysis and market insight for assigned IP domains by driving market and competitive analysis and developing differentiated positioning.
- Partnering with Product Management: Work closely with Product Managers prior to release of new products to ensure the market story is compelling and validated by co-creating and validating value propositions, positioning, and messaging; developing product announcements, launch narratives, and customer-ready selling materials before release; and highly influencing product roadmaps.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in product marketing, technical marketing, product management, applications engineering, or related roles in semiconductors and/or IP
- 10+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry
- Demonstrated success owning GTM strategy, launch execution, and sales enablement for complex technical products
- Strong competitive analysis skills and ability to translate technical differentiation into clear customer value
- Excellent executive communication skills (writing, presentations, customer-facing storytelling)
- Bachelor's degree in EE/CE/CS or equivalent technical discipline (advanced degree a plus)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience marketing memory controller IP or other SoC building blocks
- Experience building content programs across blogs, white papers, webinars, demos, and website strategy
- Prior leadership experience managing PMM teams and influencing matrixed stakeholders

Pay
The US salary range for this full-time position is $187,200 to $347,600. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.
