Job Summary

The successful candidate will be the Director, Management and Professional Liability Claims for SiriusPoint's North American MGA and Programs group. Reporting to the Head of North America MGA & Programs Claims, this role will oversee all aspects of managing and investigating claims, ensuring compliance with contracts, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and advocacy for Management and Professional Liability excess claims.
  • Analyze forms, policies, endorsements, and other documents to validate coverage.
  • Manage claims in litigation, focusing on reputational risk and preventing bad faith allegations.
  • Negotiate claims within authority and company rules.
  • Advise the business on claims trends and loss mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure accuracy and adequacy of claims reserving and coverage assessments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with MGA and Program partners, brokers, and legal professionals.
  • Treat customers fairly and professionally in all interactions.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of experience handling Management and Professional Liability claims with authority up to $250k.
  • Significant knowledge and experience of the claims process within the insurance industry.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and seek guidance when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with senior executives.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills in English, with additional language skills helpful.
  • J.D. degree from an accredited university, with claims experience preferred.

  • Deep understanding of reserving accuracy and estimation.
  • Comfort with fast-paced and time-sensitive claim negotiations.
  • Experience working with a variety of MGA and Program partners.
  • Ability to communicate reserving practices and analyses clearly.
  • Strategic thinking and collaboration across departments.
