Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for homeownership and strengthening communities. This is a hybrid opportunity requiring four days onsite and one remote day per week in Miami, Florida.

About the role

The Director of Major Gifts, Individual Giving will lead strategic fundraising efforts focused on cultivating, securing, and stewarding major gifts from high-net-worth individuals. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role will manage a portfolio of approximately 100+ donor relationships while developing strategies to achieve significant annual revenue goals. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for mission-driven work, a donor-centered approach, and the ability to build meaningful relationships that inspire transformational giving.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute strategic fundraising plans focused on securing five- and six-figure commitments from high-net-worth individuals.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of approximately 100+ qualified donor and prospect relationships throughout Miami-Dade County.
  • Conduct donor visits and engagement activities while developing personalized strategies to grow individual giving.
  • Meet or exceed annual fundraising revenue goals through major gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Collaborate with board members, organizational leaders, and development colleagues to identify prospects, strengthen relationships, and close significant gifts.
  • Develop compelling proposals, presentations, reports, activity updates, and revenue forecasts to support fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience cultivating donor-centered relationships resulting in significant individual gifts and successful fundraising outcomes.
  • Experience working within a nonprofit environment with a strong understanding of major gifts development strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage complex donor relationships, engage senior leaders and board members, and secure transformational contributions.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, relationship-building, and storytelling skills with the ability to inspire diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities; experience with Raiser’s Edge is a plus.

Pay

Competitive salary range of $100,000–$105,000, with final compensation determined based on experience and qualifications.
