About the role

The Director of Major Gifts is part of LifeBridge Health's Development Office, supporting development for key service lines, including all fundraising aspects for Oncology, Rehabilitation, Cardiology, and Surgery service lines.

This position is responsible for building and carrying a portfolio of approximately 120 prospects and closing five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts in support of LifeBridge Health and its affiliates, with a special emphasis on increasing support from grateful patients.

The Director of Major Gifts reports to the AVP Development for LifeBridge Health and has regular contact with members of the medical staff, the CEO of LifeBridge Health, and the Presidents of Sinai Hospital, Grace Medical Center, Northwest Hospital, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, and BridgingLife Hospice.

Responsibilities

  • Move prospects through the stages of the philanthropic process (moves management) with a strong metrics focus.
  • Build and maintain a fluid pipeline of 150 major gift prospects while regularly closing gifts.
  • Work in Raiser's Edge to capture prospect and donor information and activity.
  • Demonstrate creativity, innovation, flexibility, and resourcefulness in all aspects of prospect and donor engagement.
  • Work with physicians and other clinicians to identify grateful patients and families, qualify them for capacity and interest, and move them into the major gift pipeline.
  • Facilitate long-term philanthropic relationships with grateful patients and families, including clinicians in the appropriate steps.
  • Build strong working relationships with clinicians.
  • Manage several system-wide clinical service lines along with capital campaigns and major gift initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of healthcare fundraising and development experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • CFRE certification preferred.
