Director of Machine Learning

About the role

This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Technical Services environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and steer the ML strategy and technical roadmap for the company
• Lead and nurture the Machine Learning and FPT teams, fostering a culture of rigor and quality
• Improve core computer vision models for drone and MHE Vision products
• Establish robust MLOps infrastructure for model training and deployment
• Ensure seamless integration of ML systems with the broader platform alongside cloud engineering and autonomy leadership
• Translate customer requirements into ML-driven product capabilities in collaboration with Product and Operations

Qualifications

• 10+ years in building and scaling production ML or computer vision systems
• 5+ years of experience managing and growing ML engineering teams
• Deep expertise in computer vision technologies such as object detection, segmentation, and OCR
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch (or TensorFlow) with a proven record of production-level ML models
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent strong industry experience

Pay

$130,000 – $180,000 annually
