Overview

Omni Hotel & Resorts is seeking an experienced Director of Loss Prevention to join their team. This role will oversee the Loss Prevention Department, ensuring the safety and security of hotel guests, associates, and property.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains compliance with all Omni Hotels & Resorts' Life Safety Programs, training, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Plans, evaluates, organizes, recruits, trains, and directs the activities of Loss Prevention Agents, Supervisors, and Managers.
  • Reviews and ensures the accuracy and timely submission of all reports completed by Loss Prevention Agents.
  • Reports all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
  • Ensures thorough and complete investigation for all incidents, including losses, thefts, and accidents involving guests and associates.
  • Maintains surveillance procedures throughout the property.
  • Maintains the key control program and investigates any discrepancies thoroughly.
  • Maintains and monitors all hotel service levels, aiding when necessary.
  • Acts as the hotel representative when resolving guest problems and concerns.
  • Documents and communicates all guest situation details to appropriate department personnel.
  • Administers corrective action with associates as needed.
  • Ensures follow-up communication and appropriate documentation with necessary departments to resolve hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
  • Maintains security equipment in good working condition.
  • Conducts monthly department meetings and sets priorities for the loss prevention team.
  • Periodically inspects the exterior of the building.
  • Maintains continuous communication with the Executive Committee.
  • Conducts annual and new hire OSHA training.
  • Conducts monthly Safety Committee meetings and follows up on any issues.
  • Coordinates associate locker inspections and bag checks.
  • Maintains first aid kits throughout the hotel.
  • Distributes the Daily Hotel Incident/Accident Log to the Executive Committee.
  • Conducts semi-annual hotel fire drills.
  • Ensures monthly fire extinguisher inspections.
  • Ongoing Security department training.
  • Understanding of all emergency procedures.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of four years Loss Prevention/Security Management experience in a hotel or related industry.
  • Prior director-level experience is preferred.
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills, ability to delegate, effectively train, develop, and motivate staff.
  • First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain such certification.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA guidelines and workplace safety standards.
  • Experience in preventing loss, incident reporting, and interacting with high-profile clientele.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to complete incident reports and participate in investigations.
  • Excellent customer service, service recovery, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to reach various areas of the hotel at a rapid pace if necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive matters.
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
  • A flexible schedule and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to assist with supervision of pool activity as assigned.
