Director of Logistics
Job Summary
The Director of Logistics provides strategic leadership and operational direction across all assigned regions, ensuring consistent execution of transportation and fleet operations. This role oversees regional business performance, directs fleet operations teams, and drives optimization and growth initiatives across the logistics network. The Director is responsible for operational excellence, regional strategy alignment, and full P&L management within the logistics organization.

Responsibilities
Lead long-term regional growth plan by evaluating new markets, assessing logistics expansion opportunities, and positioning Sagepoint Logistics for scalable operations.
Provide second level oversight of daily trucking operations, including scheduling, routing, and resource allocation.
Provide leadership, coaching, and development for Logistics Managers, Drivers, and fleet operations staff to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance across all regions.
Build and reinforce a culture of accountability, safety, and high operational standards within all fleet operations teams.
Ensure all fleet assets are properly maintained, inspected, and fully compliant with DOT and safety regulations.
Develop, manage, and own the logistics budget, including expense control, forecasting, and financial reporting for assigned regions.
Direct regional business development by identifying prospective clients, strengthening strategic partnerships, and expanding transportation service offerings across assigned markets.
Drive strategic growth initiatives and oversee efforts to expand the customer base within the transportation and logistics segment.
Monitor KPIs and operational cost drivers to ensure sustainable, high-performing fleet operations.
Ensure full compliance with DOT, environmental, and company standards across all regional operations.
Lead a proactive safety program and maintain a high level of operational readiness throughout the fleet.
Analyze operational and financial data to identify performance gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Negotiate and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, equipment vendors, and service partners as needed to support regional operations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or related field required
7+ years of progressive leadership experience in logistics or transportation, with direct trucking fleet management experience
Demonstrated success managing P&L and delivering measurable financial results
Strong knowledge of DOT requirements, safety standards, and fleet compliance
Experience with natural gas vehicle fleets (NGVs) and/or CNG operating experience is preferred
Proven leadership and team development skills with the ability to manage in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
History of strong customer relationships
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions

Pay
Salary is paid on a bi-weekly basis and will be consummate with the value and experience the candidate brings to the role.
