Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with legal teams to develop strategies for high-profile litigation and pre-litigation matters, serving as the firm’s strategic and subject matter expert for eDiscovery and trial support.
- Directs eDiscovery, trial support, and legal technology projects in collaboration with legal teams, IT technical staff, clients, and vendors.
- Advises legal teams on litigation support technology alternatives, capabilities, recommended practices, project planning, and budget.
- Ensures the firm maintains appropriate staffing, technical infrastructure, equipment, software, and training programs for successful use of litigation support services.
- Consults with and provides briefings to attorneys and legal teams on litigation support technologies and methodologies to meet business and legal needs of clients.
- Maintains working knowledge of records management, document management, and corporate document lifecycle to support growth of in-house eDiscovery capabilities.
- Evaluates cutting-edge eDiscovery technologies and maintains strong partnerships with reliable eDiscovery vendors.
- Maintains knowledge of state-of-the-art courtroom presentation and litigation support technologies of leading law firms to ensure the firm has best-in-class capabilities and implements best practices.
- Oversees the Client Technology Services team, including recruiting, professional development, training, performance evaluations, and compensation adjustments.
- Develops and refines policies to ensure high-quality service and data security; prepares and manages the annual department budget, including software licensing and maintenance fees.
- Collaborates with the CIO and other IT directors on the development and execution of strategic and annual plans for information technology.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
- Demonstrates the ability to manage large-scale litigation projects, including data collection, processing, review, and production.
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and issues to non-technical employees.
Experience And Education Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field required; Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in litigation support technologies required.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of combined experience in litigation practice and/or information technology support required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or management experience required.
