Responsibilities

  • Leads, mentors, and grows Tucson’s Land Development Division
  • Serves as the trusted advisor and primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provides expert guidance on the design process, delivers regular progress updates, and ensures alignment of project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Led project teams by establishing clear expectations, ensuring technical excellence, and promoting a collaborative environment focused on efficiency, quality, and innovation
  • Champions mentoring, training, and professional development initiatives to strengthen staff capabilities and support career progression within the team
  • Works with Principals within RICK and provides strategic input on business development opportunities; supports firm growth through client retention and new project pursuits
  • Maintains strong, active relationships across the Arizona developer and builder community, leveraging industry connections to identify opportunities and strengthen client partnerships
  • Participates in land development and related professional organizations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college
  • Registered Arizona Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • 15+ years of relevant experience managing land development projects within the constraints of scope, schedule, budget, and performance requirements
  • Proven ability to lead teams to success, including experience directly reviewing and managing employee performance, as well as mentoring a civil engineering team
  • Initiative to accept and carry out responsibility for the design team's direction, control, and planning; ability to set realistic goals and make plans independently
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam

Qualifications

  • Extensive client contacts and relationships with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners, and public agencies
  • Experience with business development and client management, including obtaining both new and repeat business

  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam

Pay

  • Base pay from $145,000 to $175,000 with annual bonus potential
