About the role

The Laboratory Director position at Rapides Regional Medical Center is incentive eligible. This role is dedicated to promoting growth and unlocking possibilities within the laboratory services department.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordination, and control of all activities relating to Laboratory Services, including blood bank, chemistry and hematology, and microbiology.
  • Providing leadership, direction, and administration to the department.
  • Communicating the expectations of the organization to employees.
  • Adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct.
  • Acting in the best interest of the organization and supporting the mission, vision, and values of Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Requirements

  • Louisiana Licensed Medical Technologist
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited school in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or chemical, physical or biological science
  • Registered with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
  • Previous supervisory experience in a hospital Laboratory (CLT/CLS)
  • Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited school in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or chemical, physical or biological science
  • Louisiana Licensed Medical Technologist
  • Registered with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
