Director of Interior Design

The Director of Interior Design position at PAYETTE is seeking a visionary leader with a proven track record in innovative design solutions. Key responsibilities include:

1. Leading and managing a dynamic interior design team
2. Developing and implementing design solutions that align with PAYETTE's vision
3. Collaborating with clients, architectural teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution
4. Directing the comprehensive interior design process, including client engagement, space planning, material selection, and furnishing design
5. Preparing and presenting design proposals, sketches, 3D renderings, and internal/external presentations
6. Mentoring and guiding aspiring interior designers
7. Cultivating and maintaining strong client relationships and business development opportunities
8. Managing project budgets and timelines, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control
9. Developing and presenting educational and research activities on interior architecture
10. Fostering a collaborative and creative practice culture

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in interior design, with at least 8 years in a leadership role
• Professional licensure (e.g., NCIDQ, Architectural license)
• Experience in collaboration, higher education, workplace, and healthcare environments
• Proven success in managing large-scale institutional design projects
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design styles and successful project outcomes
• Proficiency in design software such as Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Adobe Suite, Enscape, and VRay
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and project management abilities
• Deep knowledge of building codes, interior detailing, and furniture industry standards
