About the role
The Metropolitan Council’s Environmental Services (ES) division operates and maintains nine water resource recovery facilities in the Twin Cities metro area. This position is responsible for the comprehensive management and strategic direction of the Interceptor Services business unit within the Environmental Services Division. The role involves setting a clear vision and high standards for the unit, ensuring that organizational goals and policies are achieved while fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and collaboration. The Director will develop and implement business strategies that align with emerging industry trends and customer needs, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and financial stability. The position also plays a pivotal role in driving innovation, managing large‑scale infrastructure, and representing the division in various forums.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree with nine years of experience, including five years of management experience.
- Associate degree with eleven years of experience, including five years of management experience.
- High school diploma/GED with thirteen years of experience, including five years of management experience.
License Requirement
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency S‑A Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Certificate, or the ability to obtain it within 24 months.
Pay
Salary range: $155,979.00 – $253,240.00 annually.
