About the role

The Director of Institutional Advancement manages a comprehensive program at CT State Community College to locate sources of funds, prepare grant requests, develop long-term relationships with donor organizations and individuals, and solicit and manage funds from these sources. The position reports to the Campus President or designee.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and developing funding sources
  • Cultivating and soliciting voluntary fund sources
  • Managing, allocating, safeguarding and accounting for development funds
  • Additional responsibilities include attending and participating in various campus events and committees

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriately relevant field
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a related field or a combination of education, training, and experience leading to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties

Qualifications

  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Fundraising, Grant proposal writing, Public and organization or association relations at an executive level, Fiscal management and grant administration, Fund-oriented strategic planning, Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities, Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting higher education institutions with fundraising and advancements efforts, Experience working in or leading small fundraising operations, A demonstrated commitment to supporting equity and social justice efforts
