About the Role
The Director of IT has responsibility for all IT activities and services, in support of the business strategies of the organization. The position provides IT leadership, directs the daily activities of IT, and collaborates with executives and general management to explore broad, technical/business applications and approaches that satisfy the operating needs of The Home and the requirements of external customers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with senior leaders in the development and execution of strategic and tactical plans for the application of information technology.
- Provides thought leadership in technology innovation.
- Interfaces directly with external customers to support functional operations and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Manages relationships with all IT vendors and partners.
- Provides leadership in proactive communication regarding information management/technology, advances in the field, and uses of information and telecommunication technology.
- Serves as an internal consultant for information and telecommunication system needs.
- Prepares annual operating and capital budgets consistent with the Strategic IT Plan.
- Leads project planning for new applications, including upgrades to existing systems, and audits completed projects for achievement of objectives.
- Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, mentoring, and developing IT staff.
- Develops and monitors compliance regarding IT policies, procedures, and operating standards.
- Oversees the direction, selection, conversion, and management of IT products, systems, and services.
- Ensures IT Risk Management aligns with business strategy and maximizes computing and network security.
- Establishes standards for computers, networking, and telecommunications equipment.
- Assures adequate training is available to users of IT services.
- Facilitates continuous performance improvement by encouraging innovation and supporting reasonable risk-taking.
- May be required to carry a mobile device and travel to various sites in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or related field required. Master’s degree in business or computer science preferred.
- 5+ years of IT experience required.
- Supervisory experience required.

Pay
The pay range listed represents the company’s good faith estimate of the salary or wage range for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including a candidate’s relevant experience, education, skills, and internal equity relative to other employees in similar roles. Candidates with less directly related experience may be placed toward the lower end of the range, while those with extensive or specialized experience may be placed toward the higher end. Market conditions and budget considerations may also influence final pay decisions.
