Main Responsibilities

  • Execute, architect, and manage all network-related projects, including design, integration, testing, and end user testing.
  • Develop, design, and manage the maintenance of IT systems and network requirements to adhere to SPCT IT policies and procedures.
  • Manage network system updates, patching, and network-related security policies.
  • Manage the process of testing network and server performance and provide performance statistics and reports, and implement changes to promote continuous improvement.
  • Lead establishment of operational and back-office process requirements as inputs to TOS and GOS procurement and implementation.
  • Develop strategies for the selection of and the integration of operational technology solutions into the TOS/GOS such as OCR, RTLS, PDS, etc.
  • Develop strategies for Infrastructure systems, schedule software version upgrades and testing prior to deployment to operational environment.
  • Vendor Management: Ensure vendors are meeting and exceeding SLA’s and KPI’s, while working towards reducing frequency of incidents.
  • Maintain SPCT standards for asset management, access controls, and IT cyber security policies for infrastructure, and network management.
  • Drive incident resolution and operational process improvements, while maintaining exceptional end-user customer experience.
  • Coordinate the Emulation Lab, the super-users and the different streams that will be connected to this, as with user training and use of data.

Required / Experience / Skills / Qualifications

  • Prior experience in containerized shipping industry, spearheading network and server upgrades, and in supporting wireless networks.
  • 5 + years of VMware experience, Veeam, and EMC SAN.
  • Experience with CISCO UCS, video and NVR systems, MDM software, and fiber optic cables.
  • Comprehensive background covering networking, server, and storage.
  • Experience with procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of optical character reader (OCR) systems, RFID and GPS technology in industrial applications, in particular with container terminal operations.
  • Experience execution of corporate cyber security strategy.
  • Able to work with teams to balance solution vs. budget, schedule, and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
  • Able to manage effort, communicate status and mitigate risks & issues.
  • Experience with VMware in a High-Availability environment.
  • Microsoft O365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud-Based environments including AWS, and Azure.
  • Strong grasp TCP/IP fundamentals (Subnetting, vLAN, DNS, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, VPN, etc.).

Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree, or ten years related experience in the IT field, 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure.
  • Master's degree - advantage.
  • TWIC Card: You will be required to apply for a TWIC (Transportation Worker’s Identification Credential) through the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) prior to your start date. Failure to receive DHS approval, acquire, or renew a TWIC card may result in the termination of employment.
