Director of Human Resources - Real Estate

About the role

Join an established, growing Southern California real estate organization as its onsite HR leader, overseeing a talented team and shaping people strategy across a diverse, multi-location workforce. This is a confidential search for an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead the HR function and support a diverse, multi-location workforce.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key HR partner to executive leadership
• Lead an established team across multiple HR functions
• Influence HR strategy, processes and organizational growth
• Support a dynamic, multi-location employee population
• Strengthen processes, compliance, culture, and employee engagement
• Oversee an experienced HR team and work closely with executive and operational leaders across the organization

Qualifications

• Significant progressive human resources experience, including experience leading an HR department or function
• Previous experience managing and developing HR professionals
• Strong working knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance
• Demonstrated experience handling complex employee-relations matters and workplace investigations
• Experience supporting a multi-location workforce with both corporate and field-based employees
• Ability to operate strategically while remaining comfortable with hands-on HR responsibilities
• Strong judgment, discretion, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to build credibility and provide thoughtful, confident guidance to senior leadership
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus
• Experience in property management, real estate, hospitality, facilities services, or another multi‑site, operationally focused industry
• Experience supporting hourly and salaried employee populations
• Familiarity with onsite employee arrangements and location‑specific employment practices
• Experience with Paylocity or a comparable HRIS/payroll platform

Pay

Salary: $130,000 – $145,000 per year
