Role Overview
The Human Resources Director is a key leadership role responsible for developing and executing people strategies that support business growth, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement across Master Builders Solutions. This role serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership, ensuring alignment between business objectives and talent strategies while fostering a high-performance culture and maintaining compliance with employment laws and regulations. The HR Director will lead initiatives related to talent management, workforce planning, organizational development, employee relations, leadership coaching, compensation, and change management across multiple locations.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 7 years partnering with senior leaders and executives.
- Proven success developing and implementing HR strategies that support business objectives.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site operations, including hourly and salaried employee populations.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Experience leveraging HR analytics, workforce metrics, and data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and workforce planning.
- Proven success driving employee engagement, organizational culture, leadership development, and talent management initiatives.
- Experience leading organizational design, succession planning, workforce planning, and change management efforts.
- Experience managing and developing HR team members across multiple locations.
- Proficiency with HRIS and talent management platforms such as ADP, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience supporting Canadian operations is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and strengthen a high-performing Human Resources organization across North America by developing talent, enhancing organizational capability, and creating a scalable HR function that enables business growth and delivers strategic value.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute people strategies that support business goals and organizational growth.
- Lead workforce planning, succession planning, organizational design, and talent management initiatives.
- Drive employee engagement, culture, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness programs.
- Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on employee relations, performance management, talent development, and change management.
- Analyze workforce trends, HR metrics, and people analytics to identify opportunities and support data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with business leaders and HR Centers of Excellence to develop and implement people programs, policies, and solutions.
- Oversee talent acquisition activities to ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent.
- Support compensation and benefits programs through market analysis, workforce insights, and partnership with relevant stakeholders.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and practices that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local employment laws.
- Lead, coach, and develop HR team members while fostering a high-performing HR function.
- Support enterprise-wide initiatives, including performance management, employee engagement surveys, leadership development, and organizational change efforts.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
