About the role
The Director of Human Resources will lead all aspects of the HR function, including talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, HRIS, compliance, risk management, workers' compensation, and employee engagement. This role oversees the full employee lifecycle across multi-state operations, working cross-functionally with leaders throughout the organization to align HR strategy with company objectives while fostering a high-performance culture and supporting continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute HR and Payroll strategy to support organizational growth and operational priorities
- Lead and develop a high-performing HR organization, driving succession planning and continuous improvement
- Oversee multi-state HR and payroll operations, ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient service delivery
- Talent acquisition and workforce strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent
- Lead total rewards programs - compensation, benefits, wellness, and insurance
- Serve as subject matter expert on employment, labor, payroll, and workforce regulations
- Oversee employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes
- Champion employee engagement, culture, and organizational effectiveness initiatives
- Provide executive oversight of HR technology, payroll, timekeeping, and information systems
- Drive HR/payroll transformation through automation, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions
- Establish KPIs, workforce analytics, and executive dashboards
- Oversee workforce risk management, including workers’ compensation and leave management
- Manage vendor and partner relationships across HR, payroll, benefits, and insurance
Requirements
- Extremely organized and able to manage the logistics of multiple duties with professionalism and strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical for success in the role, as are high levels of accuracy, timeliness and dependability
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the organization, work effectively with all levels of employees and management, and assist in providing solutions to challenges that arise
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field and at least seven (7) years of progressive human resources leadership experience, including HR and payroll oversight, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position
- Manufacturing experience highly preferred
