Responsibilities
- Partner with the VP of HR on HR strategy, planning, and execution across the organization
- Provide leadership and mentorship across the HR function, ensuring strong day-to-day execution and continued development of the team
- Partner with department leaders to identify workforce needs and create effective staffing plans
- Drive HR process improvements and streamline HR operations for greater efficiency and compliance
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure consistency and a positive experience
- Lead and facilitate new hire orientation, ensuring a consistent, engaging welcome experience for all new team members
- Provide guidance and leadership on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and performance improvement plans
- Administer company policies and ensure consistent application across all departments
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and lead HR risk management efforts
- Manage benefits administration, annual open enrollment, and employee inquiries
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of payroll data
- Coincide with payroll vendors or internal payroll teams to resolve payroll issues and discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with payroll-related tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and recordkeeping requirements
- Monitor and enhance employee engagement and organizational culture initiatives, using retention and engagement data to inform strategy
- Support the development and implementation of training programs and leadership development
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping and HRIS data management
- Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports for leadership decision-making
- Lead company-wide HR initiatives and change management efforts
- Partner with the Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist and provide backup recruiting support as needed
Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressive HR experience, including 1-2 years in an HR leadership capacity
- Proven experience managing payroll processes and compliance
- Experience with Paylocity strongly preferred
- Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of HR laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Multi-state HR experience preferred
- Proven ability to lead HR process improvement and organizational development initiatives
- Experience balancing strategic thinking with hands-on, day-to-day execution
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms, payroll software, and Microsoft Office
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is a plus
