About the role
We are a leading provider of water well drilling, pump services, and infrastructure solutions serving municipal, agricultural, commercial, and residential customers across Texas and the Southeast. Following recent strategic growth, our combined organization includes approximately 120 employees across multiple states, and we are investing in the people, systems, and processes needed to scale while preserving the strong culture that built our reputation.
This is a build from scratch opportunity to establish scalable HR processes, with high visibility and impact, reporting directly to the CEO and partnering with executive leadership on strategy, integration, and value creation.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategy
- Build the HR function end-to-end — policies, handbooks, onboarding, employee records, and administrative processes
- Lead HRIS implementation, including process design, data migration, and change management
- Develop recruiting strategies across salaried, skilled trades, field, and administrative roles
- Design and implement performance management, compensation structures, and incentive programs
- Oversee benefits programs and vendor/broker relationships
- Ensure multi-state compliance (FMLA, ADA, ACA, COBRA, OSHA, wage and hour, EEO, I-9/E-Verify)
- Lead employee relations — investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and leave administration
- Drive engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives
- Lead human capital integration for the current acquisition and support due diligence for future deals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
- 8–10+ years of progressive HR leadership
- HRIS implementation experience
Strongly preferred qualifications include experience building or transforming an HR function, multi-site/multi-state operations, acquisition integration, construction, industrial services, or field-service background, bilingual English/Spanish, and SHRM or HRCI certification.
Pay
Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 per year
