About the Role

We are a family-owned retail group in NYC seeking an HR leader to guide our growing organization. With multiple locations across the NY Metro area and 1,000 employees—most of whom are non-exempt—this role is pivotal in shaping our evolving company culture. You’ll lead an 8-person HR team comprising Generalists, a Trainer, Recruiters, and a Benefits specialist. The ideal candidate will be a confident, strategic thinker with strong communication skills, a focus on recruitment, and expertise in training.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic HR leadership to support business growth and cultural development.
• Oversee recruitment, training, and employee development initiatives.
• Collaborate with HR team members (Generalists, Trainer, Recruiters, Benefits) to ensure operational excellence.
• Advocate for HR best practices while navigating the unique dynamics of a family-owned business.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HR leader, preferably in retail or a multi-unit environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to stand your ground in a dynamic setting.
• Strategic mindset with hands-on expertise in recruitment and training.
• Experience managing non-exempt workforces and HR teams.
