About the role

The Director of HR will lead and scale the HR function across three distinct branches: the corporate HQ, the South SF Fulfillment Center, and the distributed stylist network. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role requires a strategic, hands-on approach to HR management.

Responsibilities

  • Be a thought partner to the CEO and leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent development.

  • Build data-driven performance management, growth frameworks, and compensation benchmarking to retain top talent.

  • Standardize HR workflows that keep corporate teams aligned and moving quickly.

  • Oversee HR for the fulfillment team, including overseeing labor and capacity planning, regular floor presence, and employee relations.

  • Evolve HR systems and processes for the distributed stylist network, focusing on retention and engagement.

Requirements

  • A track record heading up HR for an hourly, distributed, or multi-site workforce.

  • Retail, logistics, fulfillment, hospitality, or marketplace backgrounds are relevant.

  • 8+ years of experience in HR.

  • Experience managing across diverse, multi-location setups is a major plus.

  • Deep, current knowledge of California employment law, especially as it applies to hourly, onsite, and operational teams.

  • Proven experience managing, developing, and holding HR team members accountable.

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Corporate HQ (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance): Strategic Partnership, Performance Systems, Process & Alignment.

  • Fulfillment Center Operations (South San Francisco): Labor & Capacity Planning, Floor Presence, Employee Relations.

  • Styling (Distributed Stylist Network): Scaling, Retention and Engagement.

Skills

  • Rigorous and Hands-On: Make tough calls and get your hands dirty.

  • High Judgment and Ownership: Prioritize effectively, take initiative, and own your decisions.

  • A Systems Thinker: Design repeatable tools and routines to streamline HR processes.

  • Obsession with Detail: Ensure quality, clarity, and effective communication in all aspects of HR.

Benefits

Schedule

100% onsite at the South SF warehouse and HQ (about 20 minutes apart).
