About the role
The Director of Housekeeping (DOH) oversees MasterCorp site(s) within an assigned division. This role provides leadership, motivation, accountability, and development for MasterCorp Associates, ensuring sites consistently meet quality, timeliness, and budget standards. The DOH develops and maintains professional relationships with resort management, vendors, and service providers while fostering a spirit of partnership with site, regional, and corporate teams. The role ensures the company’s mission and values are upheld, always prioritizing the best interests of the company, its associates, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Monitor key performance indicators (Quality, Timeliness, and Budget) and ensure the site management team works together to achieve targets. Hold teams accountable for measurable results and develop action plans if metrics aren’t met.
- Oversee an active recruiting strategy to maintain staffing levels, collaborating with regional directors, field recruiters, and HR managers.
- Implement onboarding, training, and retention strategies for team members, ensuring proper selection, onboarding, training, retention, and recognition programs are in place.
- Interview, select, onboard, and train site personnel, including Executive Housekeepers and Assistant Executive Housekeepers.
- Manage the performance of the management team, including evaluating, coaching, developing, and disciplining as needed.
- Ensure a safe working environment through safety committee meetings, training, and adherence to best practices.
- Develop and maintain an efficient transportation strategy for the site, ensuring vehicle safety protocols and asset maintenance are followed.
- Communicate company objectives to the management team through organized and scheduled meetings.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with resort management and key resort staff, fostering frequent communication.
- Cultivate a customer-first culture and demonstrate professional behavior with clients, owners, and guests.
- Be willing and able to perform the duties of an Executive Housekeeper as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of progressive responsibility in housekeeping operations, with experience managing large-scale (mega) sites.
- Associate’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven track record of driving strong performance and key operational metrics.
- Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams, train talent, and effect change.
- Strong written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Effective written and verbal English communication; bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
