Director of Golf Operations

About the Role
This position is responsible for the administrative, logistical, and daily operations of the Division I intercollegiate men’s and women’s golf programs. The Director of Golf Operations assists the coaching staff in overall program administration, including part-time payroll processing, budget development and management, and travel-related logistics. The role also serves as the point of contact for the personal development program for student-athletes and supports the efficient operation of both golf programs.
Responsibilities
- Operations & Administration (55%)
- Assist the coaching staff in the overall administration of the program, including part-time payroll processing, budget development, and management.
- Provide logistical support for both the men’s and women’s golf programs.
- Manage day-to-day internal and external operations.
- Serve as the point of contact for travel-related logistics.
- Assist in budget development and adherence for both programs.
- Implement effective internal and external communication and scheduling systems for coaches, student-athletes, and staff using technologies like Teamworks.
- Serve as liaison to the Ticket Office, Marketing & Promotions, Event Management & Facilities, and Development Office.
- Coordinate alumni relations outreach and programming for both programs.
- Recruiting Operations (30%)
- Participate in on-campus recruiting activities, focusing on hosting and evaluating prospects and their guests in accordance with NCAA rules.
- Maintain and cultivate relationships to promote a positive image of the golf programs and coaching staff.
- Assist in the management and oversight of the recruiting database.
- Personal Development Program (10%)
- Coordinate and execute the personal development and career enhancement program for student-athletes, including community service, speaking engagements, and events.
- Ensure programming aligns with NCAA rules and UGAAA initiatives.
- Additional Duties (5%)
- Contribute to the overall success of the intercollegiate athletics program by performing other duties as assigned by the Head Coaches.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with computers, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of NCAA, SEC, UGA, and UGAAA rules and regulations.
- Ability to work independently on multiple assignments and organize events and travel in advance.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel and work nontraditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in athletic program administration or operations.
- Familiarity with recruiting databases and student-athlete development programs.
Pay
Advertised salary range: $55,000 - $65,000.
Schedule
Full-time position. Work schedule may include nontraditional hours, such as nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as occasional overnight travel.
