Director of Gift and Estate Planning
This position is critical to the University of Georgia’s efforts to identify and cultivate private support across all schools, colleges, and units on campus. The Director of Gift & Estate Planning independently manages a portfolio of donors and prospects capable of making significant planned gifts, contributing directly to university-wide fundraising goals. Key efforts include raising private funds to support student career preparation, scholarships, faculty support, research, innovation, public service and outreach, facility renovations, and unrestricted funds.
The role serves as the liaison and subject-matter expert to other development officers across campus, supporting cross-campus collaboration and strategy development for prospects and donors capable of major gifts ($50k+).
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects capable of making significant planned gifts.
- Serve as the subject-matter expert and liaison to development officers across campus to foster collaboration and strategy for major gift prospects.
- Partner with schools, colleges, units, and fundraisers to provide donors with the information and resources needed to make planned gifts.
- Educate donors on the impact of planned giving and how it can enable larger contributions than they may have thought possible.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of professional experience.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of development experience or professional experience in relationship management within wealth management, banking, tax, law, or financial planning.
- Estate and planned giving fundraising experience preferred.
- Behavior that supports the mission, vision, and values of the University of Georgia.

GEP assists donors in making planned gifts to the University of Georgia Foundation, partnering with schools, colleges, units, and fundraisers to ensure donors have the resources needed to make informed decisions. Planned gifts often represent the largest and most significant contribution a donor will make, enabling transformative impact on students, faculty, and the institution for generations.
