Director of Franchise Development
About the role
We invest seriously in franchise lead generation. We manage a best-in-class franchise development website, a New York public relations agency, and a standing budget for digital advertising. We're looking for a director who can work those leads with discipline, build relationships with franchise brokers, and proactively develop candidates that advertising alone won't reach.
About Our Brands
Spavia Day Spa: Our flagship brand with 63 locations, founder-led and independently owned for twenty years. Median gross sales of $1.1 million a year, and roughly one in two reporting locations tops $1 million. Median operating margin is 18.4 percent, and we have strong guest satisfaction ratings.
Sway Wellness Spa: Our next-generation urban concept, built for younger city customers. Three Denver locations are open, and Dallas and Georgetown (Washington, D.C.) are signed. We offer both brands, two price points, and two footprints, suburban and urban territories available across the country.
What We Provide
Lead generation investment: More than $10,000 a month in professionally managed digital advertising, franchise directories, and follow-up campaigns, currently producing 50 to 80 qualified leads a month, and growing.
Marketing and public relations: A franchise development website that does real selling before the first call, professional video and photography, and a New York public relations agency keeping both brands in the business press.
Room to experiment: When you find a lead-generation channel worth testing, we fund the experiment.
Process and infrastructure: A documented seven-week candidate journey from first call to signing, a modern sales-tracking system, territory mapping, experienced franchise owners who take validation calls, and founders who attend every Confirmation Day.
What You'll Do
Manage and convert inbound leads: Respond to new inquiries within one hour, guide candidates through a disciplined discovery process, and close ten or more agreements a year once you are up to speed.
Develop our broker network presence: Franchise brokers (also called franchise consultants) refer qualified, pre-screened candidates, and you will own those relationships -- presentations, webinars, personal connections with top consultants, and the conference circuit -- with each relationship registered in your name. Broker referrals should grow into 30 to 40 percent of our closings.
Develop multi-unit franchise owners: Our strongest candidates are owners who already operate multiple franchise locations -- especially in health, wellness, beauty, and fitness -- whose current brands have run out of good territory. You'll identify these operators, make the first approach, and lead them through to multi-location agreements, with research support and founder involvement behind you.
Grow our existing owner base: Develop expansion agreements and referrals from current owners -- the warmest pipeline in franchising.
How We Work
We run franchise development on measurement rather than instinct. Together we track how candidates advance at each stage and what each lead costs by source, test different approaches, retire what underperforms, and build what works into a playbook. Weekly pipeline reviews with the founders run on numbers.
Compensation
Base salary: $125,000 to $150,000, depending on experience
Per-deal bonus: $15,000 or more for every deal you close -- uncapped, with part paid at signing and part when the location opens
Multi-location agreements: Add up quickly, and a proven closer should realistically earn $275,000 to $350,000 in year one
Promotion path: Clear path to Vice President of Development as the system scales
Work Environment
Work from anywhere with easy access to Denver: monthly Meet the Team Days at headquarters, plus travel for Confirmation Days and broker conferences. Denver International Airport has nonstop flights from 236 cities, so most of the country qualifies.
