About the role
We’re seeking a dedicated and reliable Director of Food and Nutrition to lead a high-performing dietary services team. Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance and maintain high standards in dietary compliance, food safety, and service excellence.
- Oversee food safety practices to ensure proper handling and utilization of all foods and equipment, prevent contamination, improve quality, and minimize costs.
- Enhance resident satisfaction by conducting initial interviews to determine food preferences and special dietary needs.
- Maintain accurate records, including updating and securing resident diet cards and department records.
- Lead annual and quarterly assessments with input from the dietitian as needed.
- Provide strong leadership by interviewing, hiring, evaluating, motivating, and, when necessary, discharging food and nutrition services employees.
- Direct daily operations by supervising, scheduling, and coordinating the work of staff in the Food and Nutrition Department.
- Develop and conduct in-service and orientation training programs for dietary staff on a monthly basis.
- Ensure quality food products are prepared according to menus and standardized recipes.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively procure and store all food and supplies.
- Plan menus for staff meals and special functions as directed by the Administrator.
- Excel in supervising and managing the daily operations of the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
