About the Role
The Director of Fitness & Wellness is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of all fitness and spa activities, including individual and group instruction, wellness programs, and nutrition services.
Responsibilities
- Financial management of the department, including fitness, spa, and children’s areas.
- Programming of all activities, including group and individual instruction.
- Interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Managing department members and independent contractors.
- Serving as a liaison to the Sports Activity Committee and reporting directly to the General Manager/COO.
- Overseeing the maintenance and cleanliness of all department areas, including fitness, spa, and children’s spaces.
- Participating as a member of the managing committee that operates the overall Club.
- Managing all outside contractors that participate in spa services.
- Monitoring business volume forecasts and planning accordingly for manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses.
- Implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve member/guest satisfaction.
- Communicating changes or new policies and procedures to the department.
- Conducting regular staff meetings with subordinates.
- Ensuring regular and reliable attendance.
Requirements
- Associate's degree (AA) in Physical Education or related field; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- National Certificate for Aerobic AED, CPR, and First Aid.
Skills
- Ability to read and speak English to perform job duties.
- Experience with a wide variety of exercise equipment, instructional techniques, injury prevention, fitness/wellness counseling, and developing/interpreting personalized fitness/wellness regimens.

- Competitive base salary: $90,000 to $125,000 annually, based on experience.
