Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the department’s financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support strategic decision making and fiscal accountability.
- Assist with the development, monitoring, and ongoing management of the department's annual operating budget and financial forecasting processes.
- Create and distribute recurring financial reports related to budget variance, expense workflow tracking, and operational performance metrics.
- Maintain, enhance, and evolve the department's Budget Scorecard Power BI dashboard to provide real-time financial visibility for leadership.
- Collaborate with departmental leadership to establish meaningful financial metrics aligned with organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
- Evaluate existing reporting processes and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to automate financial processes, reduce manual workload, and improve operational efficiency through business intelligence and technology solutions.
- Develop and maintain event-specific Profit & Loss statements to evaluate financial performance and inform future operational decisions.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improved resource utilization.
- Provide financial modeling and analytical support for departmental initiatives and strategic planning.
- Prepare executive-level analyses and presentations that communicate key financial insights.
- Support special projects, financial modeling, and executive presentations as assigned.
- Assist departmental leadership with ad hoc financial reporting and analytical requests.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen financial reporting processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in higher education or collegiate athletics business operations is preferred.
- Experience with ERP or financial management systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning methodologies is preferred.
- Experience creating executive dashboards and performance metrics is preferred.
- Experience integrating AI into daily productivity and business workflows is preferred.
