Director of Finance - Limelight Aspen & Snowmass

Aspen Hospitality, a division of Aspen One, develops, owns, and operates luxury and upper-scale hotels, private clubs, and branded residential properties under The Nell and Limelight brands. This includes The Little Nell, Aspen’s only Five-Star, Five-Diamond ski-in/ski-out hotel and its affiliated Residences at the base of Aspen Mountain, as well as a new Nell property in development at Rockefeller Center in New York City. The Limelight brand spans properties in Aspen, Snowmass, Denver, Boulder, Ketchum, Mammoth, and Charleston.

About the role

The Director of Finance provides strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of all financial operations for the Limelight Aspen and Limelight Snowmass hotels, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, credit and collections, payroll, cash management, internal controls, auditing, general ledger, financial reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, and forecasting. This role partners with the Senior Director of Finance and Hotel General Managers to ensure sound financial management, operational excellence, and achievement of financial objectives.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute business plans aligned with the properties and brand’s strategies.
• Direct financial operations to secure hotel assets, maximize ROI, and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Serve on the hotel’s Executive Committee with exposure to senior corporate leaders and asset managers.
• Lead monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and business plans for stakeholder alignment.
• Prepare monthly financial statements with detailed workpapers per GAAP and company policies.
• Manage risk, receivables, payables, credit, payroll, cash handling, and treasury functions.
• Distribute forecasts and analyze variances to improve accuracy and performance.
• Maintain insurance coverage, licenses, permits, and legal agreements.
• Use financial analysis and benchmarking to maximize revenue, GOP flow-through, and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with audits, regulations, and contractual agreements, including CBAs.
• Monitor purchasing compliance and approve all expenses.
• Develop and implement local accounting controls, credit/collection practices, and financial procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of experience in a Senior Manager or Director-level hotel finance role.
• Proficiency in hotel property management software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and capital project accounting.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to analyze data, improve processes, and lead cross-functional teams.
• Experience with internal controls, audits, and regulatory compliance.

Pay

Salary range: $150,000 to $165,000. Actual pay depends on budget and experience. All salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Schedule

This is a regular full-time position.

• Primarily desk-based with repetitive movements (typing, sitting, standing).
• No adverse or hazardous conditions.
• Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 25 lbs. (preferred but not required).
