About the role
The Director of Finance position is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG), a non-profit organization serving the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Finance and CFO.Responsibilities
- Evaluating the accounting and reporting needs of the finance function.
- Designing and implementing systematic applications to meet these needs within generally accepted accounting principles of non-profit organizations.
- Providing assistance in evaluating the accounting and reporting needs of the finance function.
- Working closely with all functional areas within WPAOG.
- Collaborating with the Chief Financial Officer, Controller, and the entire Finance Team.
- Assisting in audit, compliance, and ad hoc reporting projects.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in finance.
- An MBA, along with Financial Edge software experience within a non-profit environment is a definite plus.
Qualifications
- Detailed orientation and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
- A working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
