About the role

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis leads and coordinates financial planning, analysis, and digital product integration to support the Vermeer MV Solutions division. This role drives profitability improvements while aligning with parent company goals, serving as a key leadership team contributor. You will consult across departments to accelerate projects that enhance sales, manufacturing, strategic alignment, and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the VMVS division annual business planning, budget development, and execution.
• Oversee financial, business systems, and IT operations across multiple locations.
• Conduct comprehensive financial SWOT analysis on performance by evaluating profitability of customers, products, and markets.
• Proactively communicate as a leadership team member to recommend profit improvement or cost-reduction strategies, including analyzing possible alliances.
• Coordinate month-end close activities to meet plant-specific and corporate timelines.
• Benchmark financials internally and externally; initiate recommendations to improve return on capital employed (ROCE).
• Provide leadership with detailed monthly financial results, observations, and opportunities for short- and long-term projects.
• Determine best practices to meet objectives and maintain accounting controls, utilizing continuous improvement to optimize personnel time and systems.
• Lead the annual physical inventory effort with manufacturing and reconcile it to ensure proper accounting and valuation.
• Manage productivity and operational performance to ensure accurate costing and analyses for gross margin decisions.
• Collaborate with corporate finance to expand knowledge across the business.
• Integrate digital products, business systems, and services to ensure seamless interaction between tools and platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in finance and/or accounting.
• Minimum of ten years of experience in financial/cost accounting; manufacturing environment or public accounting experience preferred.
• Embrace lean principles to foster open dialogue and integrate financial attributes throughout the business.
• Advanced knowledge of business systems, Excel, and charting.
• Knowledge of accounting and lean financial processes.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities, multitask, and produce accurate, professional, error-free documents on time.
• Ability to develop productivity performance measures with department-specific detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work across multiple areas and levels within the company.
• Ability to handle confidential information securely.
• CPA or CMA preferred.

Schedule

Work Shift 1 - First Shift (onsite). A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. Occasional offsite work may be discussed with your manager.

Occasional travel is expected for this position.
