Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of finance professionals, including the Senior Accounting Manager and Accounting Manager.
- Ensure recurring Finance Department work is completed across all areas of responsibility.
- Drive continuous improvement in finance operations, processes, and service delivery.
- Oversee organizational budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Support organizational planning through financial analysis and strategic guidance.
- Translate financial requirements, risks, analyses, and decisions into actionable guidance for organizational leaders.
- Oversee general ledger accounting, financial close, and financial reporting activities.
- Ensure compliance with audit, Single Audit, tax, entity compliance, and government award requirements.
- Lead the development and improvement of financial policies, standards, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure accurate financial determinations, resolutions, and reporting outputs.
- Oversee accounts payable, expense management, receivables, and collections processes.
- Provide oversight of restriction tracking, treasury management, liquidity, investments, financing, and debt obligations.
- Manage relationships with financial advisors and other key external partners.
- Support programmatic costing and managerial accounting analysis.
- Lead the adoption and optimization of finance technologies and automation tools.
- Promote efficient use of systems to improve financial reporting, analysis, and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
- A minimum of seven years of accounting or finance experience, including at least three years in a financial leadership role required.
- Two or more years of demonstrated success in the nonprofit sector is preferred.
- Previous experience in industries with inventory, warehousing, and/or logistics operations is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, accounting principles, financial reporting, compliance, and financial analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop finance professionals.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information for diverse audiences.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation or Master's degree in a finance-related field preferred.
