About the Role
Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the assigned organization's financial principles, practices, and procedures; for the maintenance of its fiscal records; and the preparation of its financial reports. Stays abreast of regulatory changes and adjusts policies and procedures to maintain compliance. Oversees assigned system-level functions.
Responsibilities
- Assist CFO with the development, implementation, and management of organizational strategic plans, goals, and objectives.
- Analyze market trends, assess competition, and evaluate national and community standards of care to determine viability of strategic plans. Translate strategy into actionable plans.
- Assist CFO with developing systems and processes which deliver premier service and achieve best-in-class targets.
- Assist CFO with developing Operating and Capital budgets and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Analyze budget variances and identify appropriate action steps needed for meeting budget targets. Ensure that the budget process is timely, comprehensive, and interactive with organizational leaders.
- Assist CFO with overseeing and monitoring the organization's compliance with regulatory requirements. Work closely with the organization's compliance officer to ensure that programs are established to achieve compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analyze cash flow, cost control, and expenses. Analyze financial data to pinpoint areas of potential vulnerability and provide recommendations and solutions.
- Collaborate with system-wide financial management to ensure consistent policies and procedures are used throughout the organization, and to share successes within own organization that can be implemented globally to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with other system departments to facilitate optimum financial success for the organization.
- Approve and prepare journal entries and reconciliations for GRMC, Indigent Care, and related companies.
- Ensure Hospital is compliant with all SOX requirements, that all support is signed and dated by appropriate personnel, and any issues identified are followed up in a timely manner.
- Assist all other departments in understanding and interpreting financial data. Prepare and distribute monthly financial data to Department Leaders. Prepare monthly expense projections for all companies.
- Assist in month-end reporting for all companies. Provide oversight to Accounts Payable to ensure expenses are properly coded in the general ledger, and that sales and use tax are properly paid or accrued.
- Assist in gathering and presenting information as requested for the preparation of cost reports, internal and external audits, healthcare surveys, and other financial analysis as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Skills
- Ability to work well under pressure or in stressful and demanding situations or environments.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and the community.
- Good computer skills.
- Self-directed and self-motivated.
