About the role

The Director of Finance serves as the organization’s controller, overseeing the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial operations and reporting. The position leads accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, cash management, audits, internal controls, and grant and contract compliance. The Director supervises the finance team and provides the CEO, Board, and organizational leaders with clear financial information to support sound decisions and the organization’s long-term financial strength.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and directs accounting, budgeting, treasury, tax and audit compliance, and long-range forecasting for the organization.
  • Develops systems and procedures for accounting and the establishment of internal controls necessary for the maintenance of proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
  • Provides the Board of Directors and appropriate committees with fiscal information including budgets and monthly financial statements; sets agendas and provides materials and analysis of information for the Board's Finance Committee.
  • Directs the development of the Agency's annual budget and other budgets as required for internal and external customers and potential funding sources.
  • Appraises the Agency's financial position and provides periodic reports on the Agency's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
  • Performs the Treasury function of maintaining banking relationships, cash management, and custodianship of Agency assets.
  • Participates in Administrative and Leadership Team Meetings and assigned committees as requested.
  • Assesses potential business opportunities.
  • Actively supports culturally competent, recovery-based practices; person-centered planning as a shared decision-making process with individuals defining their own life goals; and a trauma-informed culture to aid individuals in their recovery process.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required for department/program operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises two accounting positions (one with back-up network administrative responsibilities).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a major in accounting or finance.
  • Preferred three to five years of related experience and/or training in a computerized environment, including staff supervision demonstrating a progression of administrative skills and responsibilities.
  • Experience in preparing budgets and financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • CPA highly desirable.
  • Lived experience with behavioral health issues is desired.
  • Preferred experience with accounting software set-up, use, and maintenance and Microsoft 365, particularly Excel.

Pay

Starting at $92,000 commensurate with experience.
