DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

About the role

The Hotel Vance, Portland, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, seeks an experienced Director of Finance to lead its financial operations, drive profitability, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate financial impacts of business decisions and promptly notify management of deviations from policies and control weaknesses.
• Manage and communicate cash flow issues, prepare cash-flow statements, and ensure accurate recording of revenues and expenses.
• Monitor hotel revenues and expenses, investigate variances, and provide improvement strategies.
• Assist in capital planning, calculate returns on capital improvements, and enforce compliance on licenses, permits, and contracts.
• Coordinate forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with management and EC Team.
• Analyze financial data to assist management in achieving financial objectives, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and audit internal financial controls.
• Hire, train, supervise, and develop staff, including coaching and counseling.
• Maintain compliance with Crescent Hotels and Resorts standards and regulations, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the hotel.
• Direct or prepare financial reports in accordance with IHR requirements.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of related progressive experience in hotel accounting or a combination of a 4-year college degree with an Accounting/Finance concentration and 4 years of experience, or a 2-year college degree and 6 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.
• Experience in managing cash flow, preparing financial reports, and overseeing budgeting processes.
• Knowledge of hotel accounting practices and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to mentor and develop staff.
