Director of Finance

Location: Buffalo, NY – relocation required

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 depending on experience, plus a 15–20% bonus and long-term incentive plan (LTIP)

Responsibilities

• Lead all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities for the manufacturing site
• Partner with plant leadership to drive financial performance and operational decision-making
• Oversee capital expenditure planning and provide financial support for major manufacturing investments
• Manage and develop a team of finance professionals, including cost accounting and financial analysis functions
• Ensure accurate financial reporting, controls, and compliance within a regulated manufacturing environment
• Provide strategic financial insights to support production, operations, and business growth initiatives
• Oversee the month-end close process and review the activities of the Assistant Controller

Requirements

• 10+ years of finance experience within a manufacturing environment, including strong cost accounting knowledge
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in an accounting or finance role
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing finance or accounting teams
• Previous experience overseeing plant finance, controllership, or director-level manufacturing finance functions
• Strong ERP experience with SAP, Oracle, or a similar enterprise system
• Advanced Excel skills
• Previous accounting experience within a regulated industry such as consumer packaged goods (CPG), medical devices, aerospace, chemicals, or cosmetics
