Aspen Hospitality, a division of Aspen One, develops, owns, and operates luxury and upper-scale hotels, private clubs, and branded residential properties under The Nell and Limelight brands across Aspen, Snowmass, Denver, Boulder, Ketchum, Mammoth, and Charleston.

About the role

The Director of Finance provides strategic leadership and oversees day-to-day financial operations for the Limelight Aspen and Limelight Snowmass hotel properties, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, cash management, internal controls, auditing, financial reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, and forecasting. This role partners with the Senior Director of Finance and Hotel General Managers to ensure sound financial management, operational excellence, and achievement of financial objectives. The position reports to the Senior Director of Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute business plans aligned with the properties and brand’s strategies.
  • Direct financial operations to ensure asset security, maximize ROI, and maintain accurate reporting and management information systems.
  • Serve on the hotel’s Executive Committee with exposure to senior corporate leaders and asset managers.
  • Lead monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and business plans for stakeholder alignment.
  • Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Manage risk, receivables, payables, credit, payroll, and treasury functions.
  • Distribute financial outlook and forecasts, analyzing variances to improve accuracy.
  • Maintain insurance coverage, licenses, permits, and legal agreements.
  • Use financial analysis to maximize revenue, GOP flow-through, and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with audits, regulations, and record retention requirements.
  • Monitor purchasing compliance and approve expenses.
  • Develop and implement local accounting procedures to safeguard assets and improve operations.
  • Communicate financial concepts and roll out initiatives with clear reporting.
  • Oversee hotel-specific accounts receivable and collection practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7+ years of experience in a Senior Manager or Director-level hotel finance role.
  • Knowledge of hotel property management software, POS systems, and financial applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, improve processes, and work under deadlines.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and capital project accounting.

Pay

Salary range: $150,000 to $165,000, with eligibility for bonus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Primarily desk-based work involving standing, typing, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 25 lbs (preferred but not required).
  • No adverse or hazardous conditions.
