About the Opportunity
The Director of Finance & Operations is responsible for leading the financial and operational management across all organizational entities. This role provides strategic financial guidance and ensures strong fiscal planning, reporting, and compliance. It supports organizational decision-making by delivering accurate financial insights and oversees human resources, technology, and contract management. The position is integral in safeguarding assets, managing audits, and partnering with leadership to sustain and advance the organization’s mission.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial resource management including budgeting, cash flow, and forecasting.
- Maintain financial systems and internal controls to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Provide strategic financial advice to executive leadership, department heads, and program staff.
- Manage annual audit and regulatory filings, liaising with external auditors.
- Oversee organizational operations, including IT and contract management.
- Lead human resources functions such as benefits, compensation, recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, investigations, and policy implementation.
- Supervise a team comprising full-time and part-time staff and external consultants.
Requirements
- Experience managing finance and operations for multi-entity organizations including nonprofit and political entities.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to develop strategic financial reports and analyses.
- Experience leading audits and working with external auditors.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
- Capability to manage human resources functions and organizational operations.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
