About the role

The Director of Faith Formation at St. John the Evangelist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland, is responsible for overseeing adult faith formation programs, coordinating the Confirmation Program, Young Adult Ministry, and Youth Ministry. The position reports directly to the Pastor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee adult faith formation programs
• Coordinate the Confirmation Program
• Manage the Young Adult Ministry
• Manage the Youth Ministry
• Work with other pastoral staff
• Manage databases and records

Requirements

• A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Theology or Catechesis preferred, but practical parish experience will be considered.
• Practical parish experience
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Availability to work on Sunday mornings and some evenings

Qualifications

A Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Theology or Catechesis preferred. However, consideration will be given appropriate educational background. Practical parish experience is required. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Availability to work on Sunday morning and some evenings is necessary.
