About the role

The Director of Faith Formation at St. John the Evangelist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland serves as the leader for adult faith formation programs, including OCIA, Confirmation, Young Adult Ministry, and Youth Ministry. The position reports directly to the Pastor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and implement adult faith formation programs (OCIA, Confirmation)
• Coordinate the Confirmation Program
• Lead Young Adult Ministry
• Manage Youth Ministry
• Work collaboratively with other pastoral staff
• Manage databases and records

Requirements

• Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Theology or Catechesis preferred, but practical parish experience will be considered
• Practical parish experience
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Availability to work on Sunday mornings and some evenings

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Catholic teachings
• Ability to evangelize and live the teachings of the Church
• Excellent organizational skills
