Duties And Responsibilities

  • Captures monthly family faith formation opportunities for parish families, particularly during sacramental prep years.
  • Develops faith formation experiences that empower parents to educate their children in the faith.
  • Supports Young Family Ministry
  • Collaborates with other staff to ensure seamless transition between parish formation programs and sacramental preparation.
  • Provides monthly faith formation opportunities for parents whose children are preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion.
  • Develops ongoing adult discipleship and catechesis opportunities.
  • Coordinates the parish OCIA process, schedule, and team formation.
  • Supports catechists, sponsors, and volunteers involved in OCIA.
  • Collaborates with clergy and music ministry regarding liturgical rites and sacramental preparation.
  • Coordinates youth and young adult ministry opportunities with other staff.
  • Organizes monthly gatherings, service opportunities, and faith formation experiences for youth and young adults.
  • Encourages integration of youth and young adults into parish life and leadership.
  • Promotes a welcoming and collaborative culture among ministry volunteers and leaders.
  • Maintains cohesive pastoral care and communication for families participating in multiple parish formation programs.
  • Collaborates with parish staff and clergy to support parish evangelization and formation goals.
  • Aids in planning and administering budgets for assigned ministries and programs.
  • Works closely with the Director of Faith Formation – Children’s Sacramental to ensure comprehensive pastoral care and communication.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Catechetics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience working in ministry.
  • Must be a practicing Catholic with a strong belief in the teachings of the Catholic Church and able to articulate these beliefs to various audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills and experience in public speaking and training.
  • Working knowledge of pastoral plans and documents concerning evangelization, family formation, OCIA, and youth and young adult ministry.
  • Dedicated and flexible.
