About the role

The Director of Estimating and Preconstruction role at The Boldt Company – Western Operations is a highly visible leadership position that shapes how complex, high impact projects come to life across the enterprise. Key responsibilities include driving alignment between operations, project management, and estimating teams, partnering with corporate leadership to elevate standards, processes, and consistency, and leading front-end strategy on major pursuits.

Responsibilities

  • Drive alignment between operations, project management, and estimating teams
  • Partner closely with corporate leadership to elevate standards, processes, and consistency across the organization
  • Lead front-end strategy on major pursuits, guiding projects from early concept through subcontractor buyout
  • Play a critical role in delivering predictable outcomes and strong financial performance
  • Influence how Boldt approaches work at scale while engaging directly with clients, partners, and internal leaders to bring innovative, value-driven solutions to every project
  • Celebrate Target Value Design, model-based estimating, and design-to-budget strategies that create meaningful impact for clients while supporting Boldt's commitment to continuous improvement
  • Mentor preconstruction talent and advance new market opportunities

Requirements

  • Four-year architecture, engineering, construction management or related degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction experience working as an estimator and/or preconstruction professional
  • Knowledge of estimating processes, material and building system costs, labor productivity, and conceptual project construction requirements required
  • At least five years of leadership experience required
  • Experience in Guarantee Maximum Price (GMP) as well as Lump Sum (Hard) Bid type of projects required
  • A strong understanding of Excel spreadsheets, database-based software (WinEst), take-off software (On-Screen take-off), scheduling software (Microsoft Schedule, Primavera), and intermediate experience in Microsoft O365 is required
  • A valid driver’s license may be required

Qualifications

The anticipated salary range for this position is $208,000.00–$283,000.00 annually. This information reflects the anticipated base salary for this position based on current market data.
