Director of Equal Opportunity Compliance and Title IX Coordinator
About the role
The Director of Institutional Compliance and Title IX Coordinator oversees Institutional Equity Compliance, serves as the University's Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action (EEO/AA) officer and Title IX Coordinator. They lead the equity function, develop and implement policies, and investigate complaints of discrimination, harassment, and hostile work environment.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee Institutional Equity Compliance
- Serve as the University’s Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action (EEO/AA) officer and Title IX Coordinator
- Maintain compliance with EEO/AA policies and programs
- Work with campus constituencies to facilitate the application of policies and programs
- Collaborate and partner with Student Development, Campus Life, and Athletics on University Policies
- Supervise investigators on matters within their purview
- Communicate regularly and work strategically with the Deputy Title IX Coordinator(s) for Students
- Partner with the Office of Inclusive Excellence on search committees, EEO/AA guidelines and procedures
- Conduct new hire orientations, workshops, seminars, or meetings addressing EEO/AA principles and goals
- Ensure federal and state reporting requirements, and conduct related statistical analysis
- Represent the University internally and externally on EEO/AA and Title IX matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
- Minimum of five years of directly applicable experience with increasing responsibility for leading the equity and Title IX function within a complex organization, preferably within a higher education environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution/mediation
- Superior writing, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Experience with and sensitivity to individuals with complicated issues from diverse backgrounds
- Availability to work an in-person or hybrid schedule consistent with the university’s remote work policies and operational needs of the department
Preferred
- Master’s Degree or Juris Doctorate degree
- Demonstrable and proven track record of leadership, development and successful implementation of major diversity initiatives
- Direct knowledge, training and experience applying Title VII, Title IX, and other applicable federal and state laws and regulations related to EEO/AAS
- Strong proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite products and development/generation of reports
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Experience working with diverse stakeholder categories, including students, faculty, staff, and organizational leaders
Salary Range
$125,000.00 - $140,000.00 Annually
