Summary
The Director of Environment Services oversees and coordinates environmental services at Casa de Mañana Retirement Community, including maintenance of the physical structure, housekeeping, custodial services, and landscape/grounds maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Directs maintenance activities on utility and communication systems to ensure heat, steam, electric power, gas, air, HVAC, telephone, fire alarms, and emergency alerts are provided.
- Confers with management, engineering consultants, and quality control personnel to resolve environmental service problems and recommend improvements.
- Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures to improve operations, minimize costs, and enhance labor and material utilization.
- Reviews production, quality control, and operating reports to plan and modify environmental service activities.
- Develops a preventative maintenance program in collaboration with engineering and maintenance staff.
- Supervises managers and other supervisory staff in housekeeping, landscape, and building services departments.
- Trains workers to improve performance and familiarize them with company policies and procedures.
- Prepares department budgets, reviews financial transactions, and monitors expenditures to ensure efficient operation and adherence to budget limits.
- Works with outside vendors, consultants, and other Front Porch facilities to achieve efficient operations and high standards of performance.
- Serves as a department head, participating in meetings and addressing employee issues.
- Ensures compliance with safety standards, follows proper body mechanics, and participates in safety programs.
- Reports safety hazards and accidents to supervisors and wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Attends mandatory in-service meetings and complies with all department and facility policies and procedures.
- Follows highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management or related field.
- 5+ years of Facilities Management or related experience.
- Knowledgeable in current State and Federal regulations.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and implement work assignments efficiently.
- Ability to analyze and interpret business documents and governmental regulations.
- Ability to recognize and respond to emergency situations.
- Understanding and support of company policies and procedures.
