Director of Engineering (Hotel Facilities & Maintenance)

Responsibilities

• Maintain the exterior of the building, parking lot, and common areas
• Maintain all equipment in guest rooms
• Conduct monthly safety inspections and train staff on safety and emergency procedures
• Work with vendors
• Respond to emergencies
• Work with corporate maintenance on special remodeling projects or capital expenditure needs

Requirements

• Maintain overall operation of the maintenance department
• Ensure the appearance and working order of the hotel
• Work independently and with others
• Manage utility systems
• Experience in equipment specifying and purchasing
• Communicate with Corporate Staff
• Coach and counsel employees

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds
• 6+ years of progressive hotel or building management experience (preferably with Hyatt)
• Previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred
• Service-oriented style with professional presentation skills
• Past experience in a senior role within facility management
• Proven leadership skills
• Engineering/Facility Management degree preferred
• Strengths in high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, clear communication, and exceptional customer service
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
