Director of Engineering, Enterprise Product
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Director of Engineering, Enterprise Product to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This leader will guide the technical direction for a mature enterprise product area, balancing reliability, scalability, and thoughtful platform evolution. The role will partner closely with Product, Design, and commercial stakeholders to shape strategy, translate ambiguous business needs into execution, and support customer-facing conversations. It also offers the opportunity to drive modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development, while strengthening leadership across the engineering organization. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for the enterprise product area with Engineering Managers and Staff+ engineers
- Lead the evolution of a mature platform with a focus on reliability and scalability
- Engage directly with technology through architecture reviews and debugging
- Pioneer AI-native engineering practices within development processes
- Partner with Product and Design leadership to shape strategic direction
- Understand client needs and participate in key sales and implementation conversations
- Develop leadership within the engineering organization to enhance team structure
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams in software organizations
- Strong architectural judgment for complex platform decisions
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development
- Experience evolving mature, business-critical systems
- Track record of crafting technical strategy from ambiguous business problems
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior Product and Design leaders
- Proficiency in developing Engineering Managers and Staff+ engineers

$236,000 – $341,000 annually
