Qualifications
- Strong Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills, with experience guiding multiple teams and coaching engineering leaders.
- Hands-on Software Development background, with proficiency in modern software engineering practices, architectures, and tooling.
- Prioritized Project Management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Experience with Integration across diverse systems and APIs, ideally within financial services or data-intensive environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is beneficial.
- Background in SaaS, cloud-native platforms, or enterprise software, with emphasis on reliability, performance, and security.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with product, operations, and client-facing teams.
- Track record of building inclusive, high-performing engineering cultures and driving continuous improvement in processes and technology.
- Experience in financial technology or data platforms, and familiarity with APIs, microservices, and integration frameworks is a plus.
Role Description
The Director of Engineering is a full-time, on-site role with flexibility based in the Nashville, TN. This role oversees engineering teams responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining Wealth Access’s Connected Intelligence Platform, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and secure software delivery. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading engineering managers and developers, defining technical direction, coordinating cross-functional initiatives with product and operations, and guiding integration efforts with client and third-party systems. The Director of Engineering will manage project execution, optimize development processes, and establish best practices in architecture, testing, and deployment. This role also involves mentoring team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, and aligning engineering priorities with business goals and client needs.
