Director of EHS

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to develop and implement safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EHS management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs to educate employees on safe work practices and procedures
• Manage the EHS budget and ensure that all expenditures are within budgetary constraints
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that EHS policies and procedures are integrated into all aspects of the organization
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to EHS activities
• Stay up-to-date with changes in EHS regulations and standards and ensure that the organization is in compliance
• Lead incident investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent future incidents
• Manage a team of EHS professionals and provide guidance and support as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in EHS management
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience managing a team of EHS professionals
• Professional certification in EHS (e.g. CSP, CIH) is preferred
